freebie re-visited: Sweet As

I have given one of my favourite kits a make-over, a freebie called “my candy” from a very long time ago (January 2006 is a long time ago in the digital world). I loved the colour palette of this and decided I couldn’t do better than to give this kit a fresh new look.

There are 6 patterned papers and 6 matching solids, wordart, a lowercase alpha with many colour options, buttons, paper-pieced flowers, ribbon and jellies. This kit is licensed for Scrap-for-hire (TOU included with the zip file, or read it here), and the freebie kit is available here. I’d love to hear from you if you download/like/scrap with it!

beautiful backs (and a sample)

no scrapper’s stash is complete without a good supply of base papers, and these beautifully textured solids can stand alone to make a beautiful page with little embellishment.

available here in the store at Pickleberry Pop

I created these papers while working on my own album, which required a clean and simple approach, to complement my old photos.

credits: flower by TracyAnn Robinson, blue paper from beautiful backs pack, fonts are arriere garde and 2 peas little ladybug

to see more samples of the backgrounds in use, visit my album here

and a sample of three extra papers (3 coloured papers not included in the pack in store) is available here.

calendar templates now available

Sorry for the long delay in posting the new store items - I’ve been recovering from bronchitis-which-turned-into-pneumonia, for which I was hospitalised, and it’s taking some time to return to normal.

I have a range of calendar templates available in the store at Pickleberry Pop, to give loads of time to prepare Christmas gifts (it always comes up faster than I expect!)

photo-size calendars

month-to-page version

year-to-page version

and a cd calendar version (new)

scrapbooking and fund-raising

null

a few weeks back, Tara Dunston introduced us to the needs of a young man and his family in her community: (the following is pasted from Tara’s posts)

On Thursday the 26th of June our friends Michelle and Rodney House’s 18 year old son, Mitchell was on his way to work around 2.00am in the middle of the night, pitch black, raining and gale force winds when he drove straight into a herd of black Angus cows on the road. The cows had been spooked by the storms that had been going on throughout the night and had wandered out onto the highway where poor Mitch struck them. He was rushed to the Burnie Hospital until he was in a stable enough condition and then he was flown down to the Royal Hobart Hospital, where his condition worsened. Mitch received very severe injuries in the accident and if you go to the following link you will see the write up in The Advocate newspaper that was released the day after the accident: CLICK HERE to see the article.

As you can see from the picture of his car it was very severe. His injuries include, a broken neck, broken collarbone, broken ribs, severe head trauma, bruised organs, punctured both lungs, smashed his lower half, smashed his face & jaw, smashed all of his teeth in, and the list goes on. But as each day passes it means there is more and more hope. In the past 3 weeks he has been taken out of the induced coma and is now breathing by himself, he opened his eyes the other day but there is no reaction so far but he reacts to noise so that is positive step. He has a very very long healing process to go through and not only him but his parent’s will be there each step of the way. As traumatizing and emotionally draining as it is and will continue to be for some time.

His poor parents, Michelle and Rodney have not left his side once and they are 5 and a half hours away from home and starting to feel the financial struggle and this is where their friends, family and the community are coming to help. I suggested that I could try and help out in some way and as scrapping is my love I thought I would try and get a fundraising/charity kit together with some awesome designers and I have got 30 gorgeous girls who have stepped in to help me raise as much as we can to help Michelle and Rodney stay by Mitchell’s side.

My heart is breaking for them and if you could add Mitchell into your prayers and/or thoughts I know they will help so very much.

—————

A bunch of amazing designers have collaborated to create a massive kit, and the proceeds (less paypal fees) will go directly to Mitchell and his family. Please consider purchasing this to aid this family, it is available at Pickleberry Pop.
